The concept of a consumer is used in different contexts, so that the usage and significance of the term may vary. In economics and marketingTypically when business people and economists talk of consumers they are talking about person as consumer, an aggregated commodity item with little individuality other than that expressed in the buy/not-buy decision. However there is a trend in marketing to individualize the concept. Instead of generating broad demographic profile and psycho graphic profiles of market segments, marketers are engaging in personalized marketing, permission marketing, and mass customization. Q. Whenever I hear a report on the news about a food that is linked to a widespread infection like e coli or contaminated with chemicals, the reporter always suggests "throw the bad food away". Am I alone in thinking that's BS if we spend our hard money on food with the intent on being able to consume that food? Why are consumers not being refunded their money? Where is the incentive to prevent these occurrences from happening if there are no repercussions set in place? Asked by BADD2THEBONE - Thu Oct 2 11:25:24 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. Because most consumers don't bother to take the trouble to return the items with a complaint. Answered by Faith - Thu Oct 2 11:41:13 2008 From Yahoo Answer Search: "consumers" |
